yeah, they throw a wide net so they can say they labeled the ones that go correctly while ignore the rest. Politics plays a part as well. It's about as reliable as the star ratings. But for him, the eye test looked really good as a Soph.

I agree. It’s not a judgement on him, I hate PG. I’m excited about him as a player. It’s more the idea of giving 1100 kids a tie for 500th place. C’mon. Or telling over a 1000 kids they have a chance at going in the first 10 rounds.

You've just figured out that the travel baseball industry is a for profit venture and not for the betterment of the kids?

Welcome!

Welcome!

And you're still trying to figure out why 15-16 year old kids commit online and non-reporters report it on Twitter?

And a grad transfer - Nick Long. Spent 2 years at UF, one year at JUCO and last year at Stetson.

This guy could be interesting. Did some more research. He was one of the top pitchers in the nation coming out of Sarasota High. Signed with UF and did very little there. One year at SCF and then one year at Stetson. To say he has no love lost for the Gators is an understatement. He has some anti-UF stuff on his Twitter and he caused a stir pitching against UF for the Hatters last year. He brushed back 3 or 4 UF hitters during his outing and nearly started a brawl.

Zero chance we ever see this kid. The number of 10th graders who have actually attended the school they "commit" to is about as good as our football team's record in games that matter.

Jesse Murrell is no longer committed to USF as of this past summer. Looks like he was basically a pinch runner his sophomore year. No innings pitched, 3 ABs, but 5 stolen bases and scored 11 runs. Appeared in 17 games, but none as a pitcher.

Wonder if we pulled the plug on him or he did.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
