USF baseball Is gaining more recognition every day:

D1 Digest: Tuesday, May 9

ROUNDUP D1 Baseball Staff - May 10,

Team of the day: South Florida

The Bulls entered the week in the running for a regional host site, and Mark Kingston’s club received a much-needed shot in the arm with a 15-10 road win over Florida. USF starting pitcher D.J. Roberts put together a solid start, allowing three runs — two earned — on six hits in seven innings, while the offense led the charge with first baseman Joe Genord smacking a pair of homers, while Luke Borders hit a home run and Coco Montes collected a pair of hits.

So, what does this win do for the Bulls? USF is now up to 19 in the RPI with a 38-10 overall record, 7-1 mark vs. RPI Top 50 and 19-8 mark vs. RPI Top 100. Take care of business this weekend and you could see the Bulls move in as a host sooner rather than later.

And, this article on the NCAA baseball site was written just BEFORE USF beat UF:

College baseball: Five unheralded teams that could make noise in June

South Florida

USF has built a nice resume out of the American Athletic Conference, taking on the best its schedule has to offer and coming out looking great. A non-conference win at Florida State. Sweeps of Central Florida and East Carolina. A series win against Houston. They might not be playing a grueling ACC or SEC schedule, but the Bulls have really impressed, and their top-25 RPI ranking supports that.

Kevin Merrell is a monster at the top of the lineup, hitting over .400 and supplying a great mix of pop (.636 slugging percentage) and speed (17 steals). They have three starting pitchers who head coach Mark Kingston can trust to give him a quality start more often than not in Phoenix Sanders (2.99 ERA), Peter Strzelecki (2.62) and Shane McClanahan (3.22). Kingston also has a major weapon in the bullpen in Ryan Valdes, who often comes in when starters show some signs of shakiness and piles up innings. Because of that, Valdes sports an amazing 9-0 record.

USF isn't a team with many holes to exploit, ranking in the upper quadrant of just about every meaningful statistic. Perhaps a lack of consistent power (131st in home runs per game) or speed (153rd in steals per game), but it makes up for it with solid at-bats up and down the lineup and a lockdown pitching staff that ranks sixth with a 2.75 ERA.

Was at the game, and the USF crowd that was there was great.  Got a few dirty looks and was also told that I can be shown the parking lot by some lizard fans who didn't like me cheering by them.  GO BULLS!

I looked at the lady and said "that score is pretty nice."  It started to get a little chippy but they didn't have a leg to stand on after we kept putting runs on the board.  She went home by the 4th inning :)
