Looks like he'll get about a 400K signing bonus, and a first year salary of around 570K, so he'll basically make 1 million In year one.

Why should he have come back to school again?

Because after taxes, union dues, agent fees and all the other nonsense he May see around 300K a year for 4 years.  Big deal.  Over the course of a lifetime he should make far more with a degree.

Baffled me seeing all of the tweets saying he made a mistake leaving early.

School will always be there. The NFL won't. The only reason he should have contemplated coming back to school was to better his draft stock.

What if he invests the $ wisely and plays so well that he gets a second NFL contract?

Pretty sure if that was to happen, he'll make more than I'll ever see.

If he only gets through the first contract, goes back to school in 4 years, graduates, and starts working, he'll have a $2,000,000 headstart when he begins his second career. That's pretty good too.

Also, everyones just talking about money, money, money.

I doubt Marlon's dream was to play RB for USF. His dream, and primary professional goal, was likely to play in the NFL, and clearly everyone was right in saying he'll have a great chance to do that if he left now. If he stayed, that dream is not so certain (injuries, poor season, etc.).

I stayed in school and finished.  I didn't get that kind of head start.  I would have been happy to pay taxes, union dues, agent fees, and all that other nonsense like Marlon Mack gets to.

While that's what players often tweet about, I hope you're right.  And I'm pleased to see someone else thinks there might be some sense of personal accomplishment in the equation.

If he saves as much as possible.
