Meh. I'm totally fine with a coach poaching targets from one school to the other. What's a target? A guy you offered a scholarship to? A guy you visited at home? A guy you text everyone now and then? But if the guy committed to Temple and you went and stole him, that's a **** move.

And maybe if Rhule said "targets", he meant actual commits, which would make sense because he doesn't appear to be the kind to go back on something he said like that ...

Temple targets vs. Temple commits is a pretty large gap.

So I'm Matt Rhule, I don't pursue my Temple potential recruits and one calls of his own initiative and says he wants to commit to Baylor. Do I tell him he has to stay at Temple or do I say "Ok"?

Pursue would indicate that he wasn't going to initiate the contact so if that's how it happens, and if the kids fits in with Baylor's plans, assume he'd say OK .... which was probably what happened with one of Temple's actual commits, Rob Saulin.

I don't remember the exact words he used. But he was pretty adamant that he wasn't going to take guys from Temple. So whether that means guys committed or guys he had once contacted is up to him to decide the line.

Taggart is a Harbaugh disciple. He does not care what people think and will do what ever it takes to win, especially poaching kids he got committed to us. I'm not too concerned about it as he can only do this to us once.

I don't think you guys need to worry much further. The rest of the guys are locked into the school.

We lost a few guys, but we will be fine. I don't think any of Floregon kids would have had an immediate impact. And Strong will find plenty of guys who fit their types in the next class.

A good sized runner,

A tall possession receiver,

A small but speedy option.

Willie brought some of his WKU recruits here and, oddly, no one complained.

Who?

Willie was always of questionable character.

No he wasn't.  That's BS and you know it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
