We can bring him back as an assistant but not as the head coach. We have to bring in someone with college head coaching experience

I don't think we can go the high school route...we would lose any credibility we may already have. No problem with having them as an assistant (especially if an alumnus). Think we have to go the route of someone who has had previous head coaching experience who can recruit nationally.

What credibilty? We've tried all kinds of experienced college head coaches, including one with 2 Final Fours under his belt, and they apparently haven't been able to build crap .... or been given ample time re-build. Major problem with the hs coach route,  though, would be the assistant coaches he'd be able to attract which would be a major concern.

Chuckie suposedly doesn't meet the requirements to be a coach.  That was why he wasn't an assistant a few years back

That is why I used the words "any credibility". You are probably right we have none, but to pull in a HS coach would just reaffirm for many (not for myself) we are a small time chump change program.

Assume you mean academically. Obviously, the DUI shouldn't be an obstacle.

The only ones I would care about that affecting would be assistant candidates. It would probably make that search a lot more difficult but still maybe find some decent ones to buy in to the potential that's here.

I think he doesn't have his bachelor's degree yet.

Yes he does, got it in the last couple of years. Props to him for going back and finishing it.
