If you know that your former job is interviewing a candidate for the HC position and you just left that same position some hours ago, would you not steer clear of said situation? I knew he was all about #TheCa$h# when he interviewed at South Carolina the first chance he had to harvest the labor of all the efforts of the staff and team put together last season: The season wasn't even close to being over. Anyway, I don't care what he did here. USF paid for it. He's dead to me. And I'll grin when he gets fired from the Ducks in a few years. #That'sHowIRoll!# #USF1st# 6

Now, I can't help but feel a little betrayed.

Legal... yes Ethical... debatable What if I were negotiating a contract with a client and decided to go to another firm before the deal was inked. Is it ethical for me to try and bring them over to my new company? Even if that new company had no interest in their business previously?

If the new company will net benefit, it would be your duty as the company's advocate to do as such. As a friend of a former employer, maybe not if you want to maintain friendship. So it really depends. Really do whatever is in one's best personal interest in an ethical and respectful manner. Maybe redirecting business to your new employer away from your old is a good move, maybe it isn't. Edited December 9, 2016 by Gismo
