I know, I know when you see the title you may think it is a joke but its not.  I was thinking the other day What if Willie was the coach after Leavitt.   I was thinking of the Gulf Coast offense but really it may have never come to pass.  He would have tried just like Skippy to turn BJ into a pocket passer with a run heavy offense.  Willie may have had the same down turn as Holtz in the offense and losing games.  I know a lot of what ifs but I believe Willie may have been given the boot had he did what Skippy did with turning winning seasons into multiple losing seasons. Here's to you Skippy for being a good loser (competed hard) and letting a winner take over.  Thank you for the Gulf Coast offense.

Hmm, this is an interesting tack.  While I hold no ill will any longer toward Skip, it's going to be hard for me to thank a coach who allowed this program to spiral toward its lowest depths, leaving us without a bowl game for 4 seasons and messed greatly with BJ Daniels, who's one of the greatest QBs and leaders we ever had.

I'm going to have to chew on this one for a bit.

Also, BJ was the one who requested less QB runs and wanted to be more of a pocket passer. So that may have presented a problem for CWT's Gulf Coast offense.

Ron Zook and Will Muschamp agree with this.

Yep .... especially when the one that follows has one arm tied behind his back.

Allegedly.  Or was that ever proven?

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
