Considering the article that the op was ******** at him about is the exact type of promotional column the complainers have been clamoring for, he could have been a lot snarkier. Most, not all, of his response was dead on.

He is dead wrong about increased coverage not leading to increased interest. Big coverage from the local press is the best marketing that USF football could get.

I felt like USF got a lot of coverage this week at least online. On Saturday, they had two articles in the sports drop down menu of the Times and I think I've seen two other articles this week. Don't think I even saw a mention of FSU on Saturday.

We should be more upset with OTHER Tampa media coverage...

 

The TBT does their job... Local News stations, radio, and any other print media

The flip side of this is that as little time as the newspaper gives USF, the local TV channels give it even less. The channel 10 and channel 8 morning shows pretty much never mention USF sports even exists. They run (admittedly very short) pieces on UF and FSU on occasion, but almost never mention USF.

I wonder if Harlan could do a diplomatic "meet and greet" with local media that specifically asks for more coverage. Maybe he's already done that. Maybe not, don't know. You know, let them know we care kind of thing.
