Holtz definitely recruited White and was obviously and definitely going to offer him when he got the heave ho.  Taggart would not have offered on one hour's notice and White would not have accepted immediately upon answering the phone if there had not already been a substantial recruiting effort.

To think otherwise is simply absurd.  All Taggart did was sign off on going ahead with the already planned offer.

Good for Mike. Happy with what you have.

Worked out for everyone, not sure why it matters who recruited him. Topics that make you go :noseMax:

White was his fall back option. he wasn't going to offer him when he had Woulard lined up.

Thankfully the days when  Skip would give out scholarships to 3 or 4 walk-ons every year are over.

Good thing CWT was able to contact him, make up for months of Holtz actively trying to keep him from USF, and get him to commit all in his first day as coach.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
