FCSH 55 - Mike White 52

Hadn't been on the board all day and thought I'd see a topic that read something like the above.  Didn't CSH recruit Mike but then he signed with Taggart?  Mike looked pretty good last night. Of course neither team played defense.

There's one camp that says he was recruited by CSH and signed by CWT. The other says CWT scouted him, recruited him, and signed him all on the same day with zero help.

CWT definitely recruited him cause we all know FCSH doesn't recruit QBs

He recruited QBs and some IVY League linemen.

Honestly, glad for the success of both guys. CSH is a great guy, he just wasn't a great fit here...similar to MW under CWT's offense. Kid can sling it, hope success continues for him.

White was Taggart's first offer, and then first commit. 

I think White just was in a bad situation without time to prepare himself. He needed a redshirt year to learn the offense and become mentally tough and confident to handle himself on the field. I think he got burned out here.

I think Mike White does really well throwing the ball when his pocket is clean and he has time. That is something that we could not provide with any consistency when he was here. Combined with the fact that he can't reallly run and his struggle here was fait accompli.

Holtz didn't offer White.  He didn't seem too concerned with recruiting the QB position at all.  

Larry Scott got Taggart to offer White his first day on the job.   

White was put in a terrible position here.  We lacked talent everywhere on offense, the scheme wasn't clicking in general, and he was thrown out there without enough preparation.  That's not to blame CWT, it's just the reality of it.  

WKU is a great place to be a QB.  Brohm runs an offense(Petrinos)  that makes average QBs look good and good QBs look great.

White will always have issues. No team can give the type of protection he needs to win consistently.
