Only Florida Poly was... the Fort Myers campus was dropped back when FGCU was founded - unrelated to JD.

Cutting back on satellite campuses was a good thing in the long run.  They drain resources from the main campus, and inter-campus squabbles are detrimental to the overall institution.

Ft Meyers was too far away and did not make sense.

FL Polytech would have been better off remaining as USF Polytech, but it was lost in a political battle that no only wounded USF, but all of the other state universities.  FL Polytech makes no sense.  If you are a prospective student who wants to pursue a STEM based degree in college, would you seriously consider a start up University in Lakeland of all places?  If you are really interested in the college in a small town experience, then you are going to pick UF over FL Polytech every day.  FL Polytech may develop a reputation as a good college for a STEM degree, but that will take about 30 to 50 years.  Associating the campus with USF would have given them a jumpstart and make have also include transfers from the USF main campus.

I have seen a lot of crazy USF commercials over the years. Production value has been good on only a few.

the concept of satellite campus is great but it is defeated when they break off into another school

JD Alexander is a Big Gator, someone told me his family member is Ben Hill Griffin however, I am not sure that was right.   Clearly does not like USF.
