Word on the street is that Egbunu was gone either way

Stan's players played like dogs under him and he didn't know how to coach X's and O's that well.  People in the know, knew that.

JaVontae scored 19 against Kentucky last night.

I'm happy for him. He didn't do that consistently enough while he was here.

Didn't he supposedly quit during the winter break before being talked back?

I agree, I don't think he would have stayed regardless.

If we had kept Stan, we would have done way better in the last two years (I'm including this season, too). Dance again? Probably not. But maybe an NIT.

That said, he wasn't going to skyrocket us to success anytime soon. He found that slow-game formula was successful for at least one season, and he wasn't ever going to let it go. Offensively, he had no answers.

Now, it's high-octane basketball with no octane. The upside is there, if we can get the talent. It's too early to tell. But I will say this. If next season is another bust, that will make three seasons.

Two seasons .... and there was no reason to believe it couldn't happen again with experienced players. I really don't give a crap what kind of octane an offense runs on, what matters is wins/losses and he should have had at least one more year with players recruited with the new facilities.

We heard we were going to play high octane this year well its sputtering and needs the plugs changed.  I wanted to keep stan at least one more year as well, and i'm not calling for COA but the product this year is not good form a talent and coaching aspect

Leday had a big game in a huge win against #4 Virginia last night.

Egbunu was probably gone either way but my Gator friends are very impressed w him which sucks.

Agree Stan should have gotten another year unless a big time hire was available... Not saying Coach O can't be, but so far....

Last I checked the scoreboard doesn't have a spot for current bank balance on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
