He could be a Temple fan and not a USF cheerleader. He is arguably correct though. Penn State, Cincy and Notre Dame are arguably better than us.

Penn State would only bet better if they had Bench.

With Notre Dame, there is no argument, they are better than us.  Cincinnati will be decided soon.  Penn State would be a debate.

Penn State's losses have all been to ranked teams, while they've also beaten three above-.500 teams and a Maryland team that beat USF.

Cincinnati will be decided soon. Keep in mind, their loss to Temple was at home. Over the past five seasons, Cincinnati has lost 5 home games, to:

  • 2011: a ranked West Virginia team that won 10 games and went to the Orange Bowl
  • 2012: a ranked Rutgers team that won 9 games
  • 2013: a ranked Louisville team that won 12 games
  • 2014: a ranked Memphis team that won 10 games
  • 2015: Temple

Besides a 2 TD loss at 7-2 BYU, Cincinnati has lost by 7 at Memphis and 3 at Houston. Cincinnati is pretty good.

That's why it would be a debate.  We've lost to a now 7-2 FSU, 7-1 Navy, and 8-1 Memphis (all three are ranked).  Maryland was a bad loss, but I believe we are a much better team now than we were then.

No doubt Cincinnati is good, but at least we get a shot at them.

its still Temple.... A win against Temple is a 'big' win within our conference but it will not be respected by the national media. I expect a win and would be surprised otherwise

It will be respected. Temple is a top 25 team and many of the media put them on the ballot.
