Dan McCarnney? He made us number #1 or #2 in nation for TFL and TO takeaway I think.

The Carl's Jr./Hardee's commercial for the Tex-Mex burger is legit.

is he still alive? I watched a North Texas game this year. Guy looks 108 years old. He was/is a very  fiery coach though and we really need that.

Strong would be a terrible hire.

If Golden is fired from Miami, I would take him over Strong.

The Al Golden that had 10 NFL players on his roster last year that managed to go 6-7? Miami had so much talent last year and Golden couldn't find a way to get them to 8 wins. This is his 5th season, no bowl wins (I know the first few years they weren't allowed to go to one, but still).

This is Strong's second season at Texas. He took over a mess as well. He's got success on his resume at our level and has proven to be able to recruit Florida and get kids to Kentucky.. Strong would be far from a terrible hire. If Strong is a terrible hire (hypothetically) that would make the hiring of Taggart being 16-20 in 3 seasons at Western Kentucky the worst hire of all time.

Taggart is proving to be USF's worst hire of all time.

The point about golden having a stacked team is a good one. There are likely better resumes out there for USF. Miami seems to always score points, but can't pull out the win.

Maybe we take someone from the Baylor coaching tree. They just rolled tonight.

According to this article about Willie it sounds like if he loses to Syracuse he will be fired after that game. He also points out that Taggart better open up his playbook and call slants, hooks, hooks and ladders, and any type of passing play to save his job.

Yeah, if there was ever good timing to fire Taggart, a Homecoming loss to Cuse might be that time.  I'm sure Harlan is very aware of all observations that Knight made in his article, and his patience must be getting pretty thin by now.

Great line by Joey:

--October has barely dawned, yet the downward spirals seem to be outnumbering thedownfield ones for USF.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
