Thatwas legitimately the best game we've played in awhile. I get losing sucks, but there was a lot of positives. A lot more than FSU and FAMU.

The players executed well.

The coaching and game plan was terrible.

I agree, execution-wise.  Playcalling ... that's a different story.

Really we have a terrible QB and OC? Considering our HC calls the plays and our QB barely got a chance to show anything how would you know that?

Your posts are getting old.

Flowers looked great when given the chance to throw. The offensive line never has to pass block and it shows. After the first few attempts they got it together and gave him time. Flowers can be a solid QB for us if he is given the chance to throw the ball. The kid looks 10X better then in the FAMU game. I can think of maybe one bad throw in all his attempts last night. You can't ask for much for then that, the bad throw was a slight overthrow deep right sideline.

What else do you people want from these kids? They play their ass off and give everything they got. This one falls squarely on Taggart. If we throw the ball from the start we win easy, Memphis defense is god awful, however any defense can stop you when the same two running plays are run over and over for 3.5 quarters.

Yeah I agree. Hurts to lose but Memphis has won 12 straight game. They're really good. We played well.

I watched South Carolina play the gnats last week. South Carlina has QB problems (can't throw) and their offense looks really like ours. And that's Steve Spurrier behind that offense.

So, it's a QB problem for sure.

BUT. That game was winnable last night.

After three years, we just need a new coach. I'm tired of this junk. I know we have no money but something has to be done.

You must have watched a different game.  I do agree that for the first time I saw hope that Flowers could possibly throw the ball with some zip.

But he plays scared.  Jack rabbits all over the place at the first sign of pressure, misses wide open receivers and puts the ball into bad spots for the reciever to catch it.  Dillon made a phenomenal catch on a terrible throw for the last TD.  His late throw to Rodney Adams nearly got Adams decapitated.  He has no feel for the QB position, that much is obvious.  I like the kid, but there is a reason others did not want him as a QB.  He could excel at another position.

Defense played well. They kept us in the game. Offense played well for 3 drives. Otherwise was a disaster.  2-13 on 3rd down conversions. Playcalling, etc. It is all 1 unit. Special teams played poorly.

Between special teams and the offense, they put so much pressure on the defense.

I give the coaching staff credit on 2 fronts.  First, the initial game plan was good. No ability to adjust kills them. Second, keeping them playing hard till the end is great.

The defense is much improved. Memphis went into clock killing mode with almost 9 minutes left in the game. To me, that showed they had no respect for our offense. They probably could have put another TD or 2 up if they stayed in the hurry up. Our guys were getting gassed.

To me, whether losing by a TD or more will make zero difference in a 3-9 (or worse) year and we are watching post season at home.  At some point it has to get back to being fun to watch and about wins.
