1. Tackling. While UMD's RB core is not as lethal as Cook/pender, they're running behind a line averaging over 300 pounds. It should also be noted that last game's score only became lopsided in the 4th quarter when BGSU last game scored 3 unanswered TDs in the fourth quarter. They didn't break down after the rain delay. They broke down because they couldn't stop the pass. Even with that Maryland had an average running game last week.

 

2. Pass well. The Flowers haters are right. 1-13 on 3rd down isn't good enough. And accuracy is vital. The Bench haters are also right. Even their FCS opponent had 60 percent completions against UMD. And I don't know if Bench will do that.

 

3. LBs need to play well. period.

Saying that is not good enough is an understatement.  The QF lovers will say that our receivers dropped a dozen balls and this is the reason we were 1-13.  

 

My opinion, what we have shown so far is good enough to beat Maryland, except for our quarterback play.  QF could easily sink us here if Maryland puts 8 in the box , takes away the run on 3rd down, and forces QF to throw to receivers who are not open by 5 yards or more.
