Tice vs DJ

Their 1-2 Punch at RB reminds me of our 1997 Season.

Williams & Clemons ... both over 700 yards, over 5 yards per carry and each had 7 TD's.

Also, both had about 20 receptions.

I think DJ is being used to soften defenses, strong and takes some effort to take down. You don’t get the nickname Junkyard Dog from being a scatback.

Tice making too many good plays to sit on bench. Need to get DJ going. We were more dangerous on offense when he was involved more in passing game.  Hardly see any wheel routes to him this season. Think maybe once

I think both a doing well. DJ needs to hit the hole a bit faster. IMO he is dancing too much . He needs to hit the whole and go or break it outside the tackle and go. Once he does that I think he will be fine. The two complement each other well

Tice is the better inside runner. the plays that are being called are to his advantage. DJ is better on the outside and a better receiver.

Who else things we need to see a bit more of Tice? I don't like that he runs pretty straight up, but, it seems like he has better vision than DJ and tends to be the better runner (5.3 ypc vs 4.1) at this point. DJ is faster and more likely to break a longer run, but, I see Tice as the better all-around back who generally will get positive yards every time he touches the ball. I don't think he gets the credit he deserves, but, I am glad that young man got another year of eligibility. He's meant a lot to our running game so far this year.

I almost feel like it should be a pro-style use of the backs, with DJ being the 3rd down back and Tice getting the bigger workload. Maybe late in the game, hit them with DJ having fresh legs and the defense being run down and less sure-tackling.

Maybe I'm seeing things though.

I couldn't agree more.  Tice is much more explosive, at least this season.  Tice has earned more carries.
