Not going to happen. We had no way of knowing what Illinois would be when we scheduled that series. I just will enjoy the W's.

Its true we had no idea what Illinois would be when we scheduled them, but we had a pretty good idea of what they wouldn't be. Since Zook took over in 2005, they've had a total of 3 winning seasons. They're on their 3rd coach in 5 years. I doubt anyone was expecting a Big 10 powerhouse to come rolling into town. But scheduling them wasn't the problem. No one is complaining about bringing in a middle of the pack (or lower) name school. The rest of the schedule...woof. I had to look up which team was the FCS school and which was just bad. Never a good sign.

Heard an interesting idea the other day.  Play these FCS games in the spring in lieu of a Green/Gold game.  After all, they are merely a glorified scrimmage in the fall.  Have it at Ray Jay and sell tickets. Schools could still make the money this way and it would free up a spot in the fall for the FBS schools to schedule a meaningful game.  Bama had 76K at their spring game.

Yeah, I love the idea of the FCS Spring Game. I've been discussing that ever since the FHSAA started allowing Spring Classics.  It seems like it would be a WIN-WIN scenario.

If P5 is really afraid, we need to schedule strong G5 teams. I want WMU, WKU, San Diego State or any other like-minded teams that need a strong OOC win in order to contend in the playoffs.
