Most fun I've had at a Bulls game in a long time.  Dare I say more fun than at RayJay and Legion field doesn't have comfy red seats, a pirate ship or club access...I digress.

Got to see some of Bham and attended the pep rally and got a picture with "The Judy".  The energy of Bulls nation was palpable.  My son brough up a good point.  The 3-4K Bulls fans that attended are the hard core fans of the fan base.  You know - the ones that stand and cheer and yell and support the Bulls.  Not the ones that attend the games at RayJay and sit in club access while checking out Facebook. When the hard core contingent of our fanbase is gathered in one location, we may only be a few thousand, but we can make a lot of noise and make the game a great atmosphere.

I got congratulations from some Alabama fans as we wore our gear around Bham.  All in all a great experience and couldn't be more proud of Bulls nation.

Now the drive back to Tampa down I-75 :furious3:

Did anyone try out some of the breweries after the game?

Considering how bad traffic slowed during that stretch heading to Birmingham, I thought of also taking route 19 on the way back.

However, fans I spoke with at the bowl game said they didn't have that problem.

So,I decided to stay on 75.

BIG MISTAKE!!! :furious3:

US 19 was a breeze. Little bit of traffic around Homosassa Springs but nothing else from I-10 down to the Suncoast.

Agree that the fans there weren't part of the Club Bunch but the further away you got from the band, the less fervent the fans were. Was in Sec 9, 15 rows up and there seemed to very little involvement in the stands below and to the left in the standing and urging on our defensive 3rd and 4th downs, especially incomparison to across the field.

In all fairness, though, a lot were of the, shall we say, more veteran variety and a top priority was huddling up to keep that thinned out blood warm.

So we were in the same row?  Wish I could remember what you look like to say Hi.  Were you behind Ricky the Bull? Better yet, which seat numbers?

Were in 7&8. If you were in our row, must have been to the far left of us. To the right was a family of 6, I think.

Was I right, though, about the calm demeanor of most around us for most of game?

My son and I were the ones with the flag in row 12 on the aisle between sections 9 and 10.  Was a few seats away from jjlovecub.

Met BDYZR and his lovely wife, Collin and a few others at Faza's tailgate before the game and enjoyed spending pregame there.

Overall, an excellent trip.  This is something everyone should put in your budget for the next bowl game.  Hopefully, on New Year's Day!

Yes best crowd experience at a Recent Bulls game I have been to. With respect to the crowd, attendance at around 30k I have to believe that we were about half of the sum?  Sound right?

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
