Yup. The kid could go either way but freaking out how the kid is "someone you never want to see the field" and "will need at least 3 years to become a back up" etc is a bit ridiculous. Especially when it comes to an offensive lineman who typically take at least 3 years to be properly developed to play at the FBS level, even when it comes to high rated kids. If anything OL are the hardest kids to project because most of them are still growing into their bodies, have to really focus on their technique, and usually have to add a ton of strength to be ready to contribute. Unless you're out there landing classes full of blue chip kids upfront they all take years of development to even have a chance to see the field. Also, quite a few of our highest rated OL in the recent years were kids that were busts flat out or didn't work out for one reason or another (Max Lang, Zach Hudson, Endenfield, Jatavious Jackson, Jake Kaufman, David Simon, etc). If there's one position that is a total wait and see scenario, it's definitely the spots along the OL.

Not only an excellent center at USF, but a real good possibility he sticks in the NFL.

Confirmed what they saw on tape. Also, the staff is not taking players they expect will grow into backups at this time of the year. His height is not optimal in a power run system at tackle, but he's fine in the spread. Will have to bulk up obviously.
