I'm going to go ahead and discard all of this as it comes from 'T-Nation LLC' and its parent company 'Testosterone Company, LLC'. If you'd like to recommend any articles from 'Mega Drugs, LLC' or 'St-St-St-Steroids!!!, LLC' for our student athletes, then maybe I'll listen.

Pass.... Prior to his steroid use in 2009 he was just a chubster. I don't understand why he has such a cult-like following especially when he goes on record saying that the bench press does not build a bigger chest.

I suspect more than half of current collegiate strength and conditioning coaches have used steroids.. and even highschool coaches. And the author in the the op, rippetoe, has as well.

I think Hulse gives good advice in his videos. In the bench press video he says bench doesn't isolate chest and could be limited by weak triceps and recommends to the person asking to do some flys to isolate the chest. Hulse says the bench press will build a bigger better bench press, not necessarily bigger chest muscles. I guess you must disagree.

I'm not sure what Hulse's qualifications are to be a D1 S&C coach are and he probably isn't interested, and I'm not saying he is a good hire.

Quotes I thought that were interesting and that IMO pertain to USF football at one time or another:

"If the kids are out of gas by the fourth quarter, you either have a strength problem or a nutrition problem which should be addressed at halftime. Mashing your athletes into a stinking mass of goo with excess conditioning will almost always make the problem worse."

and this gem:

"Oftentimes, coaches will brag about not lifting heavy, and how they focus on "core strength," "functional training," and speed/agility movements instead. This is simply a layer of ******** to cover for the fact that they are not sufficiently competent to coach an athlete capable of squatting 600 for reps."

I thought it was a good read and he brings up valid points, but I have no experience in lifting.  Maybe someone can chime in who does.

USF meal plan, FTL!!!

usf won more games then they lost under Leavitt because he recruited relentlessly to a system that fit Florida talent. He also took many kids who were above USF's level but didn't have the grades for a bigger school. His risks usually paid off.

Taggart won't be successful until he realizes that most kids in this state don't grow up running a pro style offense at any level.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

"I wish you guys could be in the locker room and be on the practice field because it is so much different from what it has been in the past."
