Relax. There is always Coach Luke Campbell who wants a college coaching job. 305 Pipeline right there.

We bring in uncle Luke, I'd be all for that

This is a bad thing and I don't see us getting 6 wins next year

$, more immediate security. It was probably an easy...not easy, but a good strategic decision.

Plus, him and Gary Andersen have been friends for 20 years.

Yep, I just read that. Makes sense.

Glad for all he did, but hate to lose that link to Dade County.  I do wonder if this is an indictment on the confidence in CWT.  It's a lateral move to a P5 school, far from home (assuming it's the same position).  I worry that Lockette didn't see the improvement we're hoping for, and got out while the getting was good.

It's a pay a raise to go work at a P5 school for a good friend and a guy (Anderson) that coached him (Lockett) in college... and Anderson tried to hire him a few years ago... he'll be recruiting all of Florida for Oregon State.

Moreover, he wasn't getting off a sinking ship.  He wanted to get more Dade players to USF, but Taggart wants a different direction... Taggart really wants to create a "State of Tampa Bay."  While there are a lot of great Dade players... losing a Dade connection isn't as big of a blow if we're able to start locking down more State of Tampa Bay players.

We were a last place joke with him. Don't see how we can't be a last place joke without him.

Moving to OSU is not a lateral move. We are in football purgatory. Anything in the P5 conferences is better than what we have right now. You're either on the inside, or you're on the outside wishing to be on the inside. Good luck at OSU. Maybe one day we'll be important in the college football landscape again.

Good point, I guess it would be like getting sad for losing a busted condom

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
