The QB Clements completed 66.5% of his passes! for over 2,000 yards and also 14 TDs and 8 INTs. He's a junior so one year of eligibility left. He actually started college at Washington state where he redshirted. Not sure if he was recruited by Wulff or not. He would be interesting to bring in if possible.

Also, they recruited a mammoth OT out of juco last year that picked UAB over USF due to family being in Birmingham. That may be another player we would be interested in.

Not sure how many remember this, but UAB was program that many people felt USF should model themselves after...if the losses and fan apathy continue to mount and the dollars continue to dwindle, we may end up modeling them after all.

Dude.  UAB is shutting down because of dumb politics - because UAB is run by the University of Alabama (at Tuscaloosa)... and the UAB people got into a pissing match with Bear Bryant's kid.

UAB and Huntsville will be handicapped by the UA board so that they never threaten UAT.

What those universities need are independent boards.

Back on topic, their coach is top-notch.

Our football program is struggling, but at least we are not here.

Feel terrible for the kids and coaches. They work way too hard for this kind of treatment, especially after winning 6 games this year.

^^^ Link above to a petition to support UAB football. Help support the UAB program because i would hope someone else would do the same for USF football if we were in this situation.

UAB hung 34 points and 500+ yards of offense on Mississippi State.

Who here really believes that UAB has more talent on offense than USF?  It's about coaching, coaching and coaching.

I'd love to have their head coach as our OC and their QB as a transfer.  Our offense would be instantly better, only if CWT stayed out of the way.

Really?!...So you feel the same about USF vs UF or FSU? Same for UCF. Their FB team was around fifteen yrs before USF.

Reading the UAB news definitely got me thinking about USF's situation. If USF continues to lose support and games, would fans or administrators start to talk about shutting down the football program? If we continue this trend for 5+ more years I wouldn't be opposed to it. Give the athletics fees back to the students and focus on academics, with basketball being the primary sport.
