Need to be healthy...Holston out for a while probably, and Guerrero hasn't seen time yet (bet he could have made a difference last night). Another injury or two and this season could be rough. Right now I'm liking what I see, so fingers crossed.

I've been avoiding posting anything because people always want to know where I hear things.  But heard in Memphis that there is a chance that Guerrero has to redshirt.

If that's the case then you are going to see a lot more zone from USF to protect the Bigs which are Cousins, Zeigler, and Perry. Clayton has looked awful and by far the worse player on the team. Surprisingly USF played a pretty good zone against NCST. Hopefully Holston just misses the next game and can come back after that. Mercurius can be a spot up shooter but he is no way as skilled as Holston with the all around game. I like our perimeter guys in Morillo, Holston, Allen, and Collins. If those 4 along with Perry can be consistent producers all season then USF can be a middle of the pack AAC team with a chance to move higher with some good breaks going their way.

Basketball teams have started the season well.

Glass half full version: there's still a chance he won't redshirt. Gees, after seeing that sparse bench you'd think "everybody plays".

It wasn't definite.  Still question on the diagnosis.  If it is a hernia he'll probably redshirt.

How about we use the Hofstra thread for the "official" game thread?

Obviously wasn't a hernia that they were afraid of.  He's a tall kid.  Once he works back into game shape he will be a big help in the post.

And for a true freshman getting his first taste at this level, didn't look totally lost out there ... Interesting thing, though, is that he and Jaleel are both listed at 6'11" but something is amiss ....

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
