It was a "bones under the Sun Dome" reference.

The only senior on the Bulls basketball squad, Johnson had appealed to the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility after missing the better part of two seasons because of two knee injuries.

The appeal was denied Thursday, ending a roller-coaster five-year college career.

[...] After a solid freshman year at Virginia, Johnson transferred to USF and sat out the transfer year. In November 1996, when he was allowed to practice with the team, Johnson tore his left anterior-cruciate ligament and was out the rest of the season. [...]

The next year, Johnson started 28 of 30 games and had his most productive season, averaging 12 points and 5.2 rebounds and hitting 47 three-pointers.

But on Nov. 24, 1998, two games into his third collegiate year, Johnson tore his right ACL. [...]

Last season, he averaged 8.7 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Bulls, who were 17-14 and lost 64-58 to the New Mexico in the opening round of the National Invitation Tournament. In the final seconds of that game, Johnson severly injured his ankle scrambling for a loose ball.

These Games are a blast in person. Fun to watch team and great coach making adjustments and the team responding to him and to each other with true grit! The only complaint I had about this last game was the inconsistent calls with the referees. The one that seemed to be on the Hofstra end was quite whistle happy. Needless to say I was ready to stuff the whistle in a place where the sun doesn't shine. It will be nice to see the Sundome fill as people start believing what they're seeing and hearing. Can't wait till Saturday afternoon Go Bulls!

Glad to hear it.

Harlan should have an alumni game this year, so the old players can come in and hang with COA and the new coaches.

Good idea.

USF does that for football, when alumni teams play a flag football game.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
