Hindsight is 20/20. I thought that going for it on 4th instead of taking the 3 points was bold. I mean if he didn't people would have complained saying he coaches too conservatively, it's SMU for crying out loud. Since we went for it and didn't convert people will complain that we should have taken the points... He can't win. Either he has balls or he's a wimp.

Kicking a FG in that situation does two things. 1 helps the true freshmen QB. 2. Creates a psychological advantage by putting SMU in losing position. Instead of getting the first down USF gave SMU hope.

No problem going for it. Problem with playcall.

It was essentially a wash as they missed a fg.

The fg was the higher percentage opportunity and more inline with the character of the team. That showed desperation.
