Hindsight is 20/20. I thought that going for it on 4th instead of taking the 3 points was bold. I mean if he didn't people would have complained saying he coaches too conservatively, it's SMU for crying out loud. Since we went for it and didn't convert people will complain that we should have taken the points... He can't win. Either he has balls or he's a wimp.

I would have been more fine with it if white was in the game. We needed to get every point we could with Flowers in. What do I know. There is a reason I was on the couch and not on the sideline.

Passing up the field goal early on actually won us the game. If we kick the field goal in the first quarter then the last drive it is 13-10 and we probably settle for a field goal on the first 4th down which may or may not have been good and sent the game to overtime.

Interesting take. I'm still in shock about how close we came to a loss there. SMU is not good at all, but they looked better than us for most of the game. We have to figure out how to score points.

Don't get me wrong, I think passing up the high percentage 3 points to run a low percentage run on 4th and 3 with no threat of a pass was absolutely the wrong decision, but in a weird way it ended up leading to the last second win.
