Calling it now. This is the year USF become national champs. Lock that bracket now! Could even be international champs with all the talent from around the world. This team has a plethora of 5* and 4*s.

 

Can't wait to see winning basketball!

I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'll keep my expectations tempered for women's basketball at USF. I hope the injury bug doesn't bite the Lady Bulls and the team is able to make some noise in the Big Dance.

At the USF Hoops Hysteria (or whatever) last Saturday they had the 2015 WBB national championship trophy as part of a tour that it is on. The Mrs and I had our pictures taken with it.  If I had any clue how to post pics I'd put it up here.

Any chance we can just call them Bulls? Never saw the need to identify the program as the "Lady Bulls" - sounds demeaning from an athletic perspective as they put in just as much time on the practice

I appreciate the point, Sheriff. I think it's more logistical than sexist (although there's some of our rich prejudiced history in there, to be sure). In a one-gender sport like football, no need to differentiate; same really for baseball and softball. Basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, others...how to differentiate between one team and another? It could be that we just say Women's and Men's and that's it...they're all Bulls. But then again if I was a woman I may not be too hyped about being called a Bull, which after all by definition is a male. I would be interested to see a survey of past and current female athletes on this question...to me, they're the ones who should make the call.

Whatever you want to call them if you've never seen a WB game it's outstanding. We have an opportunity at a very good season.

Get out and support them in their on campus facility.

My wife would rather be referred to as an athlete or a leader than a "lady" anything - just my take on how she would perceive things. She's more about winning in life than worrying about things being politically correct. She went to West Point - the women's lib movement kinda takes a backseat there - which works well for me considering my history of comments (which she is aware of).
