Not condoning what Davis did, but the corner & Davis were going at it on other plays, and I'm sure Davis got frustrated and lost his cool.  No one hurt anyone...it was like watching a basketball windmill fight.

Still, I hope he's champing at the bit coming out in the 2nd half.

And, I hope this means Bronson get some time, unless they can somehow redshirt him (he seemed confused much of the time I saw him play).

Davis needed this for his development. Yeah the UC guy set him off, but Andre has to learn how to control his reaction if he wants to keep playing. Learn & grow, I really want to see this talented kid succeed!

I actually like the way he responded.  We sit here and complain about the team lacking toughness and when a guy stands up for himself we rail on him?  A shame he'll miss the 1st half because of it but I'm good with it.

Edit: Leavitt would have given him an iconic U on his helmet for doing it.

To each his own, Ricky, after all it's football not chess. But I see it as a pure loss of control, and I think he can do better.

It was a loss of control, and focus, and he needs to learn from it.

But errors of commission (fighting) are always to be preferred to errors of omission (false starts, fumbles, blocks in the back)

With no discipline for the UC instigator.

The instigator normally gets away with it in these cases. It's usually the responder that gets caught.

He looked pretty focused to me when they were trying to pull him off the guy ....

I don't like the fact that he elevated the fight to throwing punches. That was stupid, but I like that he showed fire and passion. This has been missing from the team for a while.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
