Daly, you're correct, plenty of blame to go around. Last night was not good, top to bottom. A young team will have peaks and valleys within a game and season. We knew this would be a tough year. The future is bright.

Go Bulls!

Agreed that the future is bright. The defense has been better than that last night. I would like to say that it was the offense that let the defense down. They were on the field for time of possesion of 36 mins meaning our offense only had time of possesion 24 min. We need to change that as we need more rest for our defense. Hoping Houston game we run it more effectively and control the clock.

#51 Tashon Whitehurst was completely manhandled and out of his depth, and he's a junior.

One issue which has bothered me all season is tackling. It's nearly two years in with this coaching staff, and yet there has been little if any improvement (if not regression) in tackling. This is THE fundamental task of a defense. This would be helped by older players who can teach younger players, but in the absence of that, this lays squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. Forget schemes... if you can't tackle, you're not a defense, you're just bodies in a formation running around without effect. TEACH OUR PLAYERS TO TACKLE and the rest will fall into place. Coaches... this is on you.

The entire front seven could have worked as wheel chocks last night, but not much else.  DL and backers could not, would not get off of blocks it was really as simple as that.  With Auggie Sanchez, he wouldn't fill the holes a MLB is supposed to fill and was typically caught behind a DL with the UC runner running right past him through the hole he was supposed to fill.  Then we get to see the back of his jersey as he lumbers to catch up (which he doesn't) to the speedy RB who just blew by him.  Ground Hog Day...............

Agree 100%

For a brief time our D actually played with a little anger/attitude/passion after AD was kicked out of the game.

Since our coaches obviously cannot motivate our players isn't it about time to bring in some famous person to give the players (and coaches also) a motivational speech ?

Do you mean like Harbaugh the elder who was at the game?
