He may.  IIRC, he did the same thing with Floyd, Floyd came out in the 2nd half, threw the pick, and was done forever.

Pat also had a coach who realized his limitations and strengths and played to them. Ran a lot of option and 2 TE to keep the passing to a minimum that year.
