I like being on ESPN3, it's a secret exclusive club. Like having to go to a speakeasy back in the day. Only those in the know get the password and get in.

I bought Amazon Fire TVir?t=bulliesusfbul-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B00CX5 to play ESPN3 and I like it better than a Roku.

Not too much of a secret, the World Cup just broke a whole bunch of streaming records. But as the dude said, its on the upswing, records are going to continue to be broken online for live sports events.

I went with the Roku, like the iPad, because it was the king of content. There are even websites with dozens of unlisted channels for the Roku. But if I didn't already get Prime, it might be a reason because I think a year is included now.

I have my new TV arriving tomorrow.  I have all Apple products (phone/iPad), so the Best Buy rep suggested Apple TV would be the best product for my main objective:  throwing WATCHEspn from my iPad or iPhone to Apple TV...and onto the big screen.

I checked out Roku (cheaper), but nothing I saw in the list of channels showed WATCHESPN.  Watching USF games on espn3 on the new TV is critical.

Any other thoughts?  I've been shopping/waiting for this TV for almost a year...but with football season 4 days away, I had to pull the trigger.  So, it's time to be sure I'm set up right.

The Roku has Watch ESPN and like 1000 channels, most free. You just need an open HDMI port and a wireless router.

It also has NFL Now.

Roku DOES have the Watch ESPN app which includes ESPN3. I have been using it for three months now and it works great.

I REALLY like the idea of having a headset jack in the remote, too

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
