Weird how the NFL now only allows players to wear one helmet all year for safety reasons, but the NCAA allows unpaid players to wear multiple helmets.

How is wearing one helmet safer? Genuine question.

The safety issue dealt with NFL throwback helmets.

When the teams used the throwback helmets, they tried to use the exact same model, not just color scheme.

So basically they would be wearing obsolete models.  They would not have the same safety technology/fit options/etc of new helmets.

That sounds incredibly stupid. I can't believe anyone was dumb enough to try to use decades old helmet technology.

The throwback helmets used the same technology as the regular helmets.

The reason for not allowing multiple helmets was because the players would have to be refitted with a second helmet.

For once I agree with you...as long as the players are reasonably happy with how they look and the gear keeps us safe, I don't know why the fashionability matters. I'd shrug it off it we only did it in the offseason, but it's pretty much full time on here. Que sera sera.

 

Imagine yourself a 17 year old wanting to look fine at his new school. Oregon practically has made a cottage industry of it. Got to learn to think like a recruit, not some old codge on a BB.

 

Its called swagger!  Great idea for lifting the spirits and enthusiasm of the team.

Those look like the jerseys the USF team store has been pushing. Can't remember if it was an email or something on Facebook, but I remember seeing the team store posting a picture of the jersey and saying something along the lines of getting yours for game day
