Well, I hope the current AAC goes beyond the success of the Big East when it's members thought a billion dollar tv contract wasn't good enough. #BuildGreatness

Hindsight has nothing to do with it. I am not saying they should have taken the billion. I am saying that ESPN thought the Big East was worth it. The Big East built itself into a conference the networks would pay a ton of money to have. I hope the AAC does the same.

It would be far better for USF to stay in the AAC if the AAC got back to the bigboy's table - as a conference - than it would be for USF to jump to the B12 to be in a highchair sitting on phone books at that table. Just ask WVU.

You missed the point. No conference became a first tier conference overnight.  The AAC with proper guidance can become great. There is a budding foundation in the two money sports, football and basketball, among the remaining members. There is enough that 2-3 programs from those two sports should be to able to compete in the top 25 every year.  Will it happen overnight? No. But its happened before with the Big East.

Sure, if we can't get out, we make the best of it and hope the conference as a whole elevates. If we can get out, turn tail and run

True.

But the light in the tunnel we run to in that event is more than likely a trainwreck waiting to happen.
