College and pros are two very different things.  The same reason a high school quarterback can be one of the best in the state, but sign an LOI with a DII school. The same reason that Tebow can win the Heisman and be a below average NFL QB.  

 

DeDe might make it, but he doesn't have the measurables.  Mims and Lynch do.  So DeDe will have to take immediate advantage of every opportunity he gets while Mims and Lynch will get a much longer leash.
