Team needs to make threes

Three point shooting on the season:  63-239, 26.4%  Opponents 113-311, 36.3%

FT Shooting on the season:  308-649, 65.7%   Opponents 228-334, 68.3%

 

Best three-point shooters on team:  Anthony Collins, 38.9%; Corey Allen, 30.0%, Javontae Hawkins, 29.2%

Rudd is 27%, Brock is 13%, Abdul-Aleem is 24.5%, McClendon 0% on six shots.

Really amazing to me, in just about every game, how every other team easily hits open shots, including three pointers while our guys struggle to avoid air balls. We can't shoot outside of 12 feet even when wide open.

no one has every said 3 pt shooting was a strength of this team.  Again the importance of AC the percentages would be higher if he was playing.  PT guard play can have an exponential effect in college hoops.  In every category on the ofensive end.

Of course no one ever said that 3 point shooting was a strength of this team. It takes rudimentary knowledge of basketball at best to watch USF men's BB and figure that out.

We either have no shooters at all, or we have guys that don't have the confidence to take open shots. Not sure which is worse. PG play hasn't been too bad without AC, we just don't seem to have a lot of weapons, and tend to try to force it inside to a big, which ends up causing a bunch of turnovers.

This is the most painful part. Open shots are being passed on time and time again.

Honestly I didnt even watch the game vs Cincy I only looked at the box score and stats. I saw our prior game where we shot like 2/20 or whatever god awful stat from 3.

Vs Cincy we score like 2/7 or so threes and Cincy was 7/whatever.

If we could have taken and made only 3 more threes and add in some foul shots USF would be going toe to toe or winning these games vs SMU and Cincy for example.

Seriously TWO 3-point shots all game! Pathetic. That is only one per half.
