Everyone is making good points that I agree with.  I think I'm leaning towards keeping both healthy for Houston, and it's mostly because I don't think we will get enough breaks to where we can win this game.  

 

That said, if things start out tough and Bench were to insist to CWT that he felt good enough to play, I'd throw him in there if the need arose.

When I saw this thread caption I thought it was a question a la Grambling:  Should we play Louisville or just take the forfeit and move on? 

 

Anyhow, I'll have enough faith in the coaches to decide who is healthy enough to start and play.  My guess is neither Bench or Shaw is ready yet but we shall see.

I think if they are healthy enough to play, they are healthy enough to start.  That said, I'd be very hesistant about Shaw.  With the hamstring, if it isn't 100% it could very easily be reinjured and out for the season.  So for his sake I might hold him out if it's iffy, with the idea he'd have a few solid games to finish his career.

Also, I really don't expect to see Shaw anyway.  Taggart has already said that Tice is #1, we'll see more of Willie Davis and we could see McCray.  And I can't imagine Pierre has fallen 100% off the radar.  

 

It's easy to get two RBs some carries, tough to get carries for three RBs, and near impossible to spread the load among four or five.

Shaw likely should sit until Houston (if he's ok then).

Bench I'd play if he's good enough to go. Always depends on whether its a pain tolerance or further damage situation though. And we don't know that.

Much as I think we need those guys to win vs UL, I wouldn't play them.
