I wouldn't expect a 1-11 FAU team to draw more than 4k. And it's easy to say that the guy you just fired wasn't great at stuff like marketing when he's not your guy.

A lot of the criticism sounds like the stuff we hear and say about Doug - take that for what it is. You can't really blame him for Carl Pelini's issues, though. It sure looked like a good hire this year until he got caught.

 

True...but their season tix BEFORE any games were played in the new stadium were pathetic...as was the general fundraising.

 

If FAU had 20,000-25,000 season tix sold for Year 1 of the stadium and less than 4,000 fans showed up for the last game...odds are he would still be at FAU...as all of those season tix sales would have been in the bank.

 

Add in the debacle of his coaching hire of Pelini...to go with pathetic fundraising (after being there for so long), he had to go...regardless who was in the Univ Pres Office.

I really hope Woolard leaves soon, I don't even care who replaces him.

 

 

Remember, Judy hired Woolard from a school that didn't even have a Div I-A Football program.

 

Might want to tell Judy this time around that Football experience/knowledge might come in handy as a AD...especially when Univ from your own conf are being courted to join the Big 12, Big Ten and ACC.

Rude was you and the rest of the new schools cutting in on our first round of exit money. None of you had any right to it as you knew where the conference was headed before you joined. UConn, Cincy, and USF are the only 3 schools in the country that were left out of power 5 realignment from an AQ conference.

125 FBS schools

 

122 ended up in a better place after realignment and the new TV contracts

 

3 ended up worse

 

THIS is what really gets my goat.

Stan has just 1 winning conf season (out of 7) at USF and is just 6-25 over last 2 years in conf play.

 

He's probably very fortunate that there was at least one AD out there that like to give out guaranteed multi-year contracts.

Giving you leeway on the Main board with Kanigit stuff but this has absolutely nothing to do with UCF ... You are more than welcome to start a thread on the American board critiquing AAC coaches if you feel so inclined.

As a UCF fan, I can vouch the Knights can fill an entire stadium, including the students section which holds over 12,000, for their home games. Here is the recipe: 

 

It starts with winning big games,

 

winning the conference title straight-up,

 

making it to a real Big Boy Bowl game,

 

winning it,

 

and then having a nationally ranked top 10 program.

 

DREAM BIG!

 

When will you guys dream big enough to get your own message board started and stay off ours??
