Our son pointed out several recruits who said so on twitter last night while we were at the game.

They had 8 freshmen in the 2 deep playing Clemson last night and they didn't lose like we did! Comparing storied SEC teams that recruit the best players in the country to our average recruits isn't the same. We were playing McNeese State for goodness sake. Georgia was playing Clemson. That was my point! They also recruit a different breed of player. While USF can get away playing 1 or 2 freshman, anything more is a disaster in the making because we don't recruit many college ready guys. USF needs good depth behind experienced upper-class starters but we don't have that at 3 key positions, QB, CB and LB. There will be plenty of growing pains because the inexperience lack of development so far on our team. It will take time and many losses for them to correct a bunch of mistakes and learn from. Talent is a major problem, recruiting has been suspect for quite some time. Gary Shleton even stated in todays paper. Football is an ultimate team sport and one player cannot take over a game like a stud in basketball or a dominant pitcher in baseball. If our talent was good, it would show against a 1 -AA team, our defense would not give up 53 points, give up all those first downs, our offense would manage to score more than 7 points before the game got out of hand and the other team layed back, our special teams would hit a field goal, not throw a snap over the punters head, and out return team would down the ball in the endzone when we can take it out to the 25 yard line. Taggart is known as a recruiter and he has a lot of work to do............ Of course its the talent A total of seven McNeese players have been named to various College Football Performance Awards watch lists and another 12 players have been voted onto the preseason All-Southland Conference teams as well as other organization all-conference and all-America teams. They have some good players on their team, including top transfers from D1 programs. Just because they're in the FCS that doesn't mean they automatically suck and we should beat them 100-0. Bunch of ignorant football fans on here. Edited September 1, 2013 by deters-

Leads me to believe it us nit talent, because there is no way we dont have raw talent to compete with FCS

Doesn't matter who it is or who its against.

We have on paper the best front 7 in the American Conference supposedly one of the best in the country. Our 2nd 3rd string should be able to beat MCNeese State with talent alone. Which is the great thing about paper. The ability to be erased....or if the need arises, shredded or burned.

The results show these guys are overrated physically, don't have the mental capabilities for Tag's system, or both.
