I would be really excited to see him come here. He may not be CWT's style of QB but he seems to have the heart and desire. If he is athletically able I am sure CWT could train him to be a good qb. He

I can understand why you're defensive, posting on this board. My only point was that I'm glad Flowers will stick, given his "100% after his OV." I'm not part of a Central sleeper sell. I'm also not smazza. Chillax.

This is what I'm talking about, when it comes to wanting players that want to be here!  I don't want USF to be anyone's second choice (although I know it happens).  Flowers has done a good job laying that groundwork for leadership.

Does anyone know if his 40 time on 247 is accurate (4.4)?? I think BJ ran a 4.5 or something. Quinton will set the record for longest QB run in USF history next season if it is true...Especially since we usually start inside our own 10--should be possible to beat Grothe's 80 yarder against Pitt.

Idk, but I'd say probably not. The pay sites tend to exaggerate a lot of the time. My guess would be in the 4.6's

FRIDAY, JANUARY 25th
** Spoke to Miami Jackson QB Quinton “Winky†Flowers Thursday. He will not be in Gainesville this weekend on an official visit to Florida. When we asked why, he said the Gators kept sending their defensive coaches to see him and he wants to play quarterback.

So, now it’s down to USF, where Flowers is committed, and Marshall, where he is supposed to visit the weekend of the 31st. Coach Alex Mirabal is recruiting Flowers to Marshall and the Thundering Herd appeal to because of the spread offense they run. In addition, he knows current QB Rakeem Cato, a Miami Central alum, and feels like Cato would show hin the ropes.

As far as USF is concerned, Flowers is close with RB Coach Telly Lockette, and has been committed to the Bulls for a while. Flowers visited last weekend, and was surprised that Tampa was not “country.†He enjoyed the city and spending time with the coaches, and the biggest key for Flowers is trying to “play as a freshman.†Style of play will be interesting as USF plays pro-style and not a spread, but Flowers said USF “needs a guy who can run and I am one of those guys.â€
