Metro Conference as new conference name wouldn't work because the elimination games before the big conference championship game would be called metro sectionals and that'd sound stupid.

How about the American Metro Conference, AMC for short. Brand it like they do at AMC the Network. We can be the Walking Dead!!

americanmetroconference has not been registerd, yet, for any extention. americanmetro has been registerd for .com

Funny, but americantwelve has only been registered for com and org, if you want to get in on the fun.

american12conference has been registered for com, org, net, biz, info, mobi, us, and tv. Something tells me, that is the one.

Not going to dig through 10+ pages of this thread, but I think the old Metro Conference was always a good descriptive name.  It was not a regional or directional name, and it indicated that the school was not located in some yee-haw podunk little town.

 

This America 12 sounds too much like Conference USA, and that conference was clueless on how to organize itself.  I remember at one point the basketball teams were split into three divisions at one point - red, white & blue.  Can you say: gay, gayer and gayest?  I fear that the brainbust that would end up running a conference called America 12 would follow that same pattern.  Plus America 12 sounds too jingoistic - hyper "patriotism", excessive flag waving and chest thumping.
