They're not confusing UCF and USF, are they? Just wondering since espn does it all the time. Haven't been reading alot about this I just find it odd that he'd cancel his visit there and schedule us on the same day. I'd think he'd want to visit both and just schedule us later. Great job by Taggart and Co if this is the case.

UCF pulls out of recruiting FB Kennard Swanson

By Paul Tenorio | Orlando Sentinel UCF Writer

UCF has pulled its name out of the hat for Lake Griffin fullback Kennard Swanson.

Swanson was originally scheduled to visit campus on Monday, but UCF

pulled back over the weekend. Swanson, who was committed to both LSU and

Florida, will visit USF, instead.

The major issues with the 6-foot, 245-pound back appear to be grades,

and those eligibility question marks appear to be what caused UCF to

opt out on adding Swanson to their class of 2013.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Swanson’s

grades caused Florida to back off, but he was close enough to

eligibility to get some schools to check him out and see if spring grades would be high enough to make him eligible.

The Knights have a need at the H-back and fullback position, but added Georgia recruit Mario Mathis as a possible contender for the job. Mathis played both linebacker and tight end in high school, but will start off at UCF on the offensive side of the ball.

Swanson is set to visit USF now instead of coming to Orlando.

I'd love to see this kid on the field for us. Hopefully Taggart motivates him to work as hard in the classroom.

Seems like the Sentinel is eager to point out that C. Florida isn't an option due to grades but he still intends to visit USF because (they suggest) USF's academic standards aren't as demanding (otherwise, why bother with the visit?).

Boy, I hope this guy comes to USF, qualifies, then runs for 150 yards and two touchdowns versus C. Florida next year.
