Charlie Weis used to put on his Super Bowl rings too when recruiting for ND. That alone tells me no to Rich Bisacchia

Image him going into a recruit's living room in the state of Florida, flashing that Super Bowl XXXVII ring

Jay Gruden could flash his 6 Arena Bowl rings to a recruit!

We'd be the best team on half the field.

At the very least special teams would improve.

Painful to watch special teams under Holtz.

All I know is that Duemig loves him.

That's a vote against him IMO

I agree but have asked for more reasons. All I have is that he is a good special teams coach, only 49, and would not be a retread. Not enough for me.

If he is the guy, why did we get Skippy 3 yrs ago? All this guys accomplishments were before then. If anything the last three yrs at San Diego wouldn't bolster ones resume.

I agree. I see no upside other than the minimal ones I have listed. I keep seeing the name but am not sold. The others I can blow off with the retread label, this one not so much.

Good quote from one of these articles:

MIke Mayock:

“If you are a special teams coach, you are painted into a corner. I had this conversation with John Harbaugh. I helped him get college interviews and pushed the Baltimore Ravens to just get him in the building and let it go from there,†Mayock said.

“As strong as I felt about John Harbaugh as an elite level of a coaching candidate, I feel the same way about Rich Bisaccia.â€

If we go for an NFL guy, Bisacchia is who i want. But, I'd rather not go that route.

You do realize that alot of players that now have Notre Dame playing for a national championship were recruited by Weis, right?

Seriously, Bullshiznitz? Bleacher Report articles? ;)

Would not be a fan of a Bisacchia hire, I'd rather get a proven coordinator that is hungry and knows the college recruiting game.
