Wanna bet Louisville cross rivalry is Boise?

Each team would play six games within its division and two games against the other division, including one permanent cross-division game. The annual cross-division games would be Cincinnati-Louisville, UConn-Rutgers, Boise State-San Diego State, Houston-SMU, Navy-Temple, UCF-USF and Memphis versus the 14th team.

How can USF-UCF be a cross division game when they're in the same division?

The cross division starts 2014.... The divisions released today are only till the rest of the teams join... then UCF moves to the western division.

Aren't we still missing a 14th member?

I edited.... the cross divisional starts in 2015 when Navy comes on board.

Aren't there currently 12 teams? Navy makes 13 right? So one division will have 6 and the other 7?

Am I missing something?

East:

USF

UCF

Louisville

Rutgers

Connecticut

Cincy

West:

Boise

Temple

Houston

SMU

San Diego

Memphis

+

Navy

?????

I heard that Air Force will be the 14th member...

Add BYU to West with Navy - Temple goes back to east in 2015

That's speculation at this point. I guess we'll end up with someone as a 14th member, even if its ECU.

I have faith in Joe. BYU will come to to table and bring futher relevance to this conference. Just wish TCU would have stayed...we'd be sitting nice.

Sorry, when they go to 14 teams and the Red and Blue Divisions

League officials already have discussed how to split the divisions when the Big East grows to 14 teams. Sources said the most popular 14-team model would then be Red and Blue divisions that are nongeographic.

The proposed Red Division in 2015 would consist of Louisville, UConn, Memphis, Navy, San Diego State, USF and SMU, while the Blue Division would consist of Boise State, Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Rutgers, Temple and the 14th team.

Some of you didn't read these paragraphs.

I still see no need for a fixed cross-divisional rival. Just keep things geographic, except with Navy in the west + AFA/BYU as 14th member, with Temple going back to the east:

EAST:USF,UCF,UL,UC,UCONN,RU,TEMP

WEST:BSU,SDSU,SMU,UH,MEM,NAVY,14th.

There are no established East-West rivalries that need to be locked in.

There are no Blue Teams, There are no Red Teams, there is only one team. The team you have to beat next weekend.

An accurate description of the divisions is new members and old members except for UCF. Should have put temple in the east and UCF in the west to keep the new vs old member divisions.

That would have been the easiest scenario

For two years this scenario would have made the most sense.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
