To summarize, in 2015 the proposed divisions are:

Red - Louisville, UConn, Memphis, Navy, San Diego State, USF and SMU

Blue - Boise State, Cincinnati, UCF, Houston, Rutgers, Temple and the 14th team

The permanent cross divisional game would be: Cincinnati-Louisville, UConn-Rutgers, Boise State-San Diego State, Houston-SMU, Navy-Temple, USF-UCF and Memphis versus the 14th team

Is FL A&M the 14th team?

Given how we just got kicked in the nuts with the new BCS/Playoffs deal we would be lucky to talk FL A&M into coming on board... frankly I don't see how we are gonna be able to keep Boise State on board going forward, much less the Ville or Natti.

Boise only leaves if PAC 12 expands, Louisville is going to be hard to keep either with ACC or Big 12. Cincy is not going anywhere, as good of a program they have they do not have the $ or the space (actual land) to expand to move up. That is their issue and why USF moves before them. UConn and Rutgers is interesting also.

Given the new conference ranking points system I see ALL of the big conferences finishing their expansion plans over the next year or two. The PAC 12 would get a points bump from Boise, and the ACC or Big 12 would get a points bump from the Ville.

Since Rutgers only started being good recently most of their history back to 1998 is horrible, UConn has been flat for the most part, and only Natti or USF has any real top 10 rankings. Hopefully the Jim Leavitt era will make us attractive as a last minute add to another conference over Natti.

This divisional split is all well and good for travel costs and whatnot, but it sure weights one division much more heavily than the other. This alignment awards Boise by basically giving them all the creampuffs in the West to stomp on the way to the conference championship game every year, whereas the East division is so much more difficult to win out in. That said, it also probably means the East will more likely be the BCS rep every year...

San Diego State isn't a bad team.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
