we arent keeping best players home

we need to do that

Because the best players want a shot at a national title. We aren't close to that point.

I guess the point I am trying to make is when the other Big East teams recruit, they go after the best available players for the positions they are trying to fill. Our philosophy is let's get the best available Florida player.

I would say that in the majority of cases, due to our place in the pecking order, the best Florida player available for the position we're trying to fill IS the best player available for the position we're trying to fill ....

the best florida talent usually leaves the state. The skill players come from our state. The players that make your team better and play a more realistic style of football and not this gimmick spread stuff the state of florida runs because the size just isnt there on the o-line comes from different states across the board. We have to recruit with a much wider base and try to bring in guys who play football the right way. Far too long we have gotten poorly coached undisciplined players. We have gone above and beyond with alot of them and managed to get this far. I agree we don't have to get the ELITE players to play like an ELITE team.

the pouncey brothers disagree. right down the street in lakeland. terrance cody also disagrees.fort myers. plenty of other linemen come from the area.

javier arenas tampa boy. dexter mccluster largo.

there is a ton of NFL talent that comes from this area.

we would waste our time and money by recruiting the NE or even midwest. it takes time to build relationships with high schools.

before garcia got booted, two of the SEC starting QBs were from hillsborough county. that's 17% of the starting QBs in the best conference in college football from our home county.

how about the stud freshman WR from clemson? sammy wadkins. leads the country in TD receptions and is 7th in the country for yards. ft myers kid. he is the reason they are a top ten team in the country. these are the kids we need to sign. we don't need to go to BFE new england to recruit.

this. With the exception of the OLine, FL has more than enough talent to build a championship team.

usa today map of high school players drafted in NFL. notice there are 3 dark blue states and we happen to be one of them.

13 centers from florida high schools since 1988.

37 defensive tackles.

18 guards.

58 tackles

In all florida high schools have produced the 3rd most NFL draft picks in the country since 1988.

besides california and texas, the next closest is georgia with 277 less or 48% less than florida.

after that there isn't a state that even produces half as many as florida.

it would be foolish to waste our time and resources flying all over the country recruiting states that produce very little talent.

keep the talented kids here who choose clemson, auburn, alabama, etc.
