If this is true, then someone needs to shake some sense into USF.  Boise is a must for retaining AQ.  What is going on here.

As for that expansion, another top college official said the conference’s football schools — though there are just six now — can’t even come to a consensus on adding Boise State for football only.

That official, who also requested anonymity because of private nature of the conversations the past two days, gave an insight into just how fractured the league is:

• Though Boise State is the Big East’s best chance to retain its automatic bid to the BCS when the next evaluation period comes up in 2014, Louisville, Cincinnati and South Florida are lukewarm to the idea.

And Boise won’t commit to the league until the six holdover football schools do;

I can give you 2629 reasons why they probably are against it. That and Boise's APR is ****.

Based on the rumor that we didn't want UCF, Boise has to feel pretty good right now about their chances of being offered a spot.   8-)

Do any of those 2629 reasons outweigh not having a BCS AQ bid?  That is THE reason to add Boise.  All other reasons for or against pale in comparison.  Does USF want to be relegated into oblivion.

unless some miracle is suddenly pulled from the hindquarters of the big east schools and conference officials, i feel pretty confident in saying this is the least competent bunch of bungling morons imaginable.

commit to the conference and add the ******* teams already.

this is all subject to change again in a couple years anyway.

goal #1 is to maintain AQ status.

Why does everyone still believe there is a real ongoing effort to save the conference?

The 3 teams allegedly lukewarm are the 3 most likely tone left holding the bag if the conference fails.  They probably asked for assurances (in the form of exit fees and media rights) to ensure that everyone stays and they don't get stuck with teams 2000 miles away and no AQ money and those have been rebuffed.

I hate to go conspiracy theory on stuff like this, but you almost have to start figuring out people's motivations for leaking the information they leak and primary among them is not being the basis for the death of the BE and being able to shift it to someone else.

Do you guys think this might be why we're getting no looks from other conferences?  Maybe we're not looking, and we're content with a watered down BE.

Anyone down for some emailing? I really want some answer, Boise is the BEST way for us to keep our AQ status and keeps USF in an AQ conference and helps our program.
