We were never really good with the spread offense.

Glad that Skip sees how valuable the TE and FB position are.

The TE/FB positions are valuable in a pro style scheme. Not a spread. Whether we ran the spread effectively under Leavitt and Co. is up for it's own debate (I'd agree it wasn't ran well). Regardless, it wasn't a position of need. We're not the first team running a spread to neglect the position, and besides, the elite of that position tend to shy away from spread systems anyway.

Holtz could've switched us to a 3-4 last year and we'd be ill equipped to have switched even with a guy like McClain at DT. He was not a 3-4 DT. Yet, the previous regime didn't neglect to recruit the position.

The point of the above is that when changnig a system there's expected to be some growing pains. Our TE/FB position will feel it next year most likely.

It doesn't reflect anything on the prior regime imo though, only that they didn't run a pro-style offense. If you want to say they're stupid for running the spread, then be my guest.

I'm with you Bill. Hopefully, it's just a mistake on the USF/ESPN recruiting page. Something seemed unordinary when he disappeared from our recruiting page. Atleast Scout and Rivals still have him as a solid commit. That's a good sign.

Perhaps, they meant to remove Reno Henderson and inadvertently removed Price.
