Never mind, here's the link: http://www.tboblogs.com/index.php/sports/story/usf-leavitt-reach-settlement/

Wasn't on tampabay.com at all, but was on a little line on TBO's front page.

From Greg Auman's blog:

http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/content/usf-settles-leavitt-lawsuit-275-million

USF settles Leavitt lawsuit for $2.75-million

USF has reached a settlement with former USF football coach Jim Leavitt, paying him $2.75-million to end the wrongful termination suit he filed after his firing in January 2010.

The settlement, announced Tuesday night by USF and Leavitt's attorney, Wil Florin, includes $2-million for "salary and benefits," as well as a payment of $750,000 "acknowledging Coach Leavitt's contributions to building USF's nationally respected football program."

Leavitt had sought as much as $7.1-million from what was remaining on his contract, but the settlement is considerably more than he was initially paid after a USF investigation found he violated the school's conduct policy and was fired "with cause." Leavitt was accused of grabbing a player by the throat and striking him twice during halftime of a football game in November 2009.

"I'm grateful for the love and support of my family and all of the great people of Tampa Bay," Leavitt said in a statement. "I will always cherish my time at USF and what we built here together."

USF replaced Leavitt with former East Carolina coach Skip Holtz, who led the Bulls to an 8-5 record in his first season, including the program's first win against Miami and a bowl win against Clemson.
