"Journalism" these days is a ******* joke ....

It actually sickens me a little.  Whether its crap like this, or the TMZ type of stuff.   People who make a living doing something where you're only purpose is to destroy and bring down the lives of others (not all reporting is like this, but sure seems like a majority now) really are scum.   I hope Dante creates a special layer in hell for these people.  Don't see how you can take any gratification from destroying peoples lives and knowing you were a part of that.

How is a story about a trusted adult hitting a college kid trying to ruin somebody? Your not taking off your fan goggles here guy.

Instead of attacking the reporter, attack the coach that did something wrong.

Im speaking more in general with reporting as a whole as it is today.  But for this specific case, even if the Leavitt story turns out to be true, McMurphy has done nothing but biased reporting with an intent on tearing down USF.  Basically the tabloid type of reporting.  The next story I see from McMurphy on game matchups or a non-negative player story on USF....it will be the first.

I don't see how Brian Bennett's report is an abortion to Journalism...

He's a reporting a story.  One that will be popular to read.  McMurphy's reporting of second had sources is poor journalism, but I don't see how Bennett is in the wrong here.

Actually, I wrote it after that after the initial post based on this:

As we understand it, there is enough information to base a conclusion and perhaps disciplinary action against Leavitt.

Who is "we"? Enough information based on what? What's your source? ..... ******* joke.

Erinsk only come forward when his locker was emptied out and his scholarship eligibility expired... he is throwing a fit because he wants to get a free 6th year extension of his 5 year max scholarship.

Also Erinsk did not even witness this altercation, he allegedly heard about it.

This whole thing is an attempt by Steve DUI-meg and his butt pal BMM to take Leavitt and USF down... nothing more nothing less.

Looks like Brett found another disgruntled player. Why hasn't he or anybody found one that actually saw anything?  ???

Because they are afraid Leavitt will slap them (sarcasm)

How is reporting on a third hand story not a ******* joke?

Many on this board have impuned the character of Brett, a high school coach who is also a deacon, all deacons in general, and many others by claiming that perhaps this story was being misrepresented (as Miller's father later claimed).  The fact another player is claiming that Joel confided in him and requested guidance in dealing with the situation at least indicates that Joel was consistently saying he was grabbed by the neck and slapped.

It is still certainly possible that Joel was upset and perhaps mischaracterized the story, possibly even unitentionally.  Still seems reasonably newsworthy.  Not sure what you guys are expecting.

And if Jim did throw away the personal property of a college athlete because he was angry about what he said at an investigation or to the media then it is time for him to be fired.  That shows an extreme lack of self-control and causes embarrasement to the program and the University.

Erskin, Miller, their daddies and Coach David Mitchell are Snitches, Punks and Cry Babies.

What Church is Mitchell a Deacon at? Church of Lost and Found? LOL

Great, we not only have to deal with the Amazing Erskin, we now have to deal with Carnac the Magnificent and his mind reading expertise  :o
